Sometimes when things are super busy I feel like the shower is my only sanctuary. I use it as a time to clear my mind, think through things that are troubling me, and just focus on myself in general.
Here are some products that help me relax and refresh in the shower figuratively and literally, or both. So let’s just jump right into what’s in my shower!
Soap and Glory - Clean on Me Creamy Moisture Shower Gel
As the name suggests this shower gel is totally creamy and moisturizing but it's the smell that keeps me coming back. Again, as I've mentioned before with other Soap & Glory products there's just something about this fragrance that I can’t get enough of. Besides getting you clean this shower gel claims to have built-in body lotion and while I will admit that it's moisturizing I still always apply body lotion following the shower. As always I love the packaging of this product, they even mention on the back to please shut the shower off while soaping up to prevent it all from just going down the drain. So cute! And of course, environmentally conscious!
Simple - Foaming Cleanser
I started using Simple products several months ago and I have just been thrilled with every product in the line that I have tried so far. This foaming cleanser is no exception. The description on the back calls it a “perfect blend of our purest possible skin loving ingredients and multivitamins. It helps to gently eliminate impurities remove makeup and excess oil by maintaining a skins natural moisture balance.” I literally only need one maybe two pumps. I massage this all over my face and neck and rinse it off. It leaves my skin feeling so clean and fresh. I love this product! It's made with no perfumes or dyes, it does what it says it does, and the price is extremely reasonable.
Kiss my Face - Moisture Shave
Although the packaging on this product leaves a little to be desired, moisture shave 4 in 1 will be a product I repurchase. This product claims to soften, smooth, soothe and moisturize. I have been really happy with the results I'm getting as I've been using it over the past month and a half or so. I have the Lavender Shea fragrance and I just love it! It has a smooth creamy texture that goes on easily, shaving is a breeze and it's all natural. This product has no parabens, no preservatives, no animal ingredients, it's biodegradable and unlike a lot of shaving products this product is not tested on animals. What's not to love!
St. Ives - Pink Lemon & Mandarin Orange Scrub
For years the St. Ives Apricot Exfoliating Scrub has been my go-to. Recently I purchased the pink lemon and mandarin orange scrub and I have been loving it! It's got an amazing fresh scent and seems to really leave my skin with a smooth polished appearance. I would really recommend checking this product out.
John Freida - Blonde Highlight Shampoo and Tone Corrector Conditioner
I have been using John Frieda sheer blonde products for years. I find they help bring out my highlights especially in the summer and the tone corrector is great for neutralizing brassiness. I buy these products for three simple reasons: 1) they work 2) they smell great and 3) they're reasonably priced.
Rusk Sensories - Clarify, Detoxifying Shampoo
As you may have gathered from reading so far I am very sensory oriented when it comes to my shower products. When I purchased this Rusk Sensories clarifying shampoo I bought it solely because I thought it smelled amazing. For that reason I am still glad that I bought it and I do use it regularly. The only issue I have with it is that it is really runny and therefore I have to pour it directly onto my hair when I use it rather then into my hand first. No big deal, but I thought it would mention it. Sometimes when I use the same shampoo for a while I find my hair tends to get weighed down. This clarifying shampoo helps remove that build up… and did I mention it smells amazing!!
Sonia Kashuk - Grapefruit Verbena and Musk Exfoliating Body Polish
I like to have a body scrub or exfoliator in my shower and I’m always trying new ones. The one I currently have is the grapefruit verbena and musk exfoliating body polish by Sonia Kashuk. As with all the products I keep in my shower this one smells amazing too. I'm not typically a fan of the musk scents but this one is great! What I like about this product is its creamy texture and fine granular particles. I find that many body polishes have really large granules in them and I often find them too abrasive on my skin. This product does an amazing job of smoothing out my skin and even leaves it feeling moisturized after.
Now I just want to add that I don’t use all of these products every time I shower, I like to mix it up and honestly I regularly introduce new products as well as I am always looking to try out something new.
So? What's in your shower? I would love to hear about what your favorite shower products are in the comments.
