I 'Heart' Planning Workshop + Social
Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. You may be wondering where I've been as of late and now that it's over I have a minute to share that I've been super busy getting ready for my I 'Heart' Planning Workshop + Social.
I am the owner and event coordinator for the WestCoast Paper & Planner Fair. We hosted our first event in September of 2017. That event was a market for vendors of all things paper and planner. We had some amazing B.C. based shops join us as well as one vendor all the way from Ontario. We were also proud to showcase some amazingly talented local musicians. It was a great success and truly a dream come true for me.
This past weekend the WestCoast Paper & Planner Fair hosted the I 'Heart' Planning Workshop + Social. This event was quite different than our first event. Yes, there was of course shopping, but we also spent a lot of time delving into the art and act of planning.
I wanted to create I 'Heart' Planning for three main reasons:
The planner community is a worldwide one and as amazingly supportive, welcoming, encouraging and connected as it is, it's primarily an online community. I wanted to create a physical way for our local planner community to connect. To meet planners and sticker shop owners that I have admired, messaged and followed in person. To extend that connection and to share my passion for planning with those who 'get it'.
Next, my hope for the event was to provide a variety of forms of inspiration to our VIP Planner Guests!
Tanja Shaw is a Lifestyle & Fitness Coach , Goal Digger, Action Taker, and Motivational Speaker. These are all amazing accolades but what it doesn't include is that Tanja doesn't just talk the talk, she walks the walk. Kinesiologist, Nutrition Therapy Practitioner, Business Owner and Leader for over 10-years, Business of the year award winner, Net Profit Explosion Member of the year, and Game Changer in literally 100's probably 1000's of lives in her role as a health and lifestyle coach.
Marg is the owner of Once More with Love, a planner sticker and accessory brand that has a worldwide fan base on Instgram, Facebook, and Etsy. I have been a huge fan of Marg's for a long time and I first had the pleasure of meeting her when she joined us for the WestCoast Paper & Planner Fair back in September of 2017. Despite my Planner Community newbie status and lofty planner market and event dreams, Marg was welcoming, kind and amazingly supportive. Her stickers are some of my absolute favs! But so much more than that, I admire the positive energy she brings as a leader in the planner community.
~Meeting other local planners~
It's so inspiring to meet and plan with other planners.
I wanted to inspire our VIP Planners to think outside the box when looking for accessories for their planners. We made planner clips and a pen holding clip for our planners. We also learned how to fold a envelope out of a heart to hold special keepsakes. All these goodies were made with things from the dollar store!
We had special musical guest Dear Father join us during our Planning Session to inspire us with his amazing acoustic sound. Dear Father is a solo artist from Langley, British Columbia who is signed with Mighty Speck Records. You can find him at www.dearfathermusic.com or @dearfatherofficial on Instagram.
We all had a little look through our planner accessory collections and pulled out anything (paper, washi, half used sticker sheets) we no longer used or wanted. On the day of the event we added all our goodies to the destash table to help them find a new home. Many of us found a few new treasures to take back home as well. This was so much fun and super popular.
I continue to be blown away by the support we received from local planner sticker and accessory brands. Our swag bags were amazing and so representative of the amazingly talented shop owners we have right here in British Columbia. Here are the links to the Shops who joined us:
Last, but definitely not least I wanted us to have time to create! Whether new to planning, discovering your planning style, on your journey to planner peace, or you've been planning for decades, all of us at I 'Heart' Planning shared a common love for planning. With that in mind I wanted to make sure to have a good chunk of time set aside for us to actually get our planners out and put pen to paper. We shared, learned from each other, asked and answered questions about planner preferences, favorites and appreciated the creativity of the planners around us.
In closing, the day was a great success and a dream come true for me. We made connections, were absolutely inspired, got creative and had a ton of fun!
Can't wait for next time!
Who's with me?
