I was searching my beloved Pinterest recently looking for a no bake cheesecake recipe, (which is my personal favorite style of cheesecake, it’s a childhood memory thing) when my search led into a blueberry cheese cake recipe, which then led into many many other blueberry recipes. Hopefully you can relate to the endless vortex of the Pinterest search. Anyway… I came across a recipe for an easy blueberry dump cake. I have to admit I have never heard of this kind of dessert but one look at the recipe and I knew I had to try it.
This recipe is super easy and would be great for a family dinner or pot luck type get together. I used a 10x14 glass Pyrex, a 9x13 was recommended but mine still turned out great!
So here is what I did to make this simple and very yummy dessert.
I think there are endless possibilities here. From what I have read apparently cherry dump cake is the traditional form of this recipe. I think it could be great to try a chocolate cake or cherry chip mix with the cherry pie filling, or a pecan cake mix with either the blueberry or cherry. I would like to try it with carrot cake mix and pumpkin pie filling and use pecans instead of the fresh berries. I think that will be a definite try come fall :).
I would love to hear from you if you decide to give this recipe a try or any of the versions I've suggested above. Please leave me a comment :).
